“Still Waiting for the Marine Parade” is a picture of my memory jumbled into a moment. My earliest memory of being told we are headed to Marine Parade, was misunderstanding that I would be amazed by an actual parade of floats, like I’d seen on tv. A procession of The Toys R Us balloon that didn’t burst, the best friend you bumped into, the sibling you shared Yakult with and the Marlins that didn’t get replaced by an MRT station.

Kristal Melson's art explores narratives from a female perspective using electrifying colors, blending femininity, bubblegum sweetness, and brute strength.

Her commercial work includes collaborations with brands like Apple, Nike, and a capsule collection with Vans, alongside producing small collections of apparel, accessories, and prints.
